Damn, I thought this was gonna be one of those singalongs, & we were gonna do Chuck Berry's "No Particular Place To Go"...oh well...
My first vehicle was a '67 Ford Econoline LongLine (maybe a foot extra cargo space behind the back wheels than the stardard van), basically a "Falcon-in-a-box" with the 6-cylinder engine between the front seats...the engine cover was used as a third seat by some of my shorter passengers, & I had this dirty trick I would play with the help of the right-hand passenger...we would each grab a leg of the middle guy, & flip him into the back...btw, the forward seating arrangement meant that if I had ever had a head-on, I would have absorbed the impact with my toenails & worked back from there...previous owner had welded a benchseat sideways in the back, & we took out a wooden bed at the back doors so I could haul my amps around (but I kept the foam mattress for...uh, other activities...it was a fairly reliable van, but I wore out my first clutch cuz I learned the WRONG way to drive a stickshift, & finally burned up the clutch totally by trying to haul a piano up Germantown hill on 41A heading to Clarksville for a gig...finally constant repairs prompted my daddy to trade it in for a new ChevyVan, but that's a story all in itself...
