Several years ago I worked in a mall food court. It was my experience that a lot of hype was given to Black Friday and while it was REALLY fucking busy, there were busier days between then and Christmas.

Myself? I work a lot better under pressure, so I wait until the 23rd to start shopping.
(I'd wait 'til the 24th, but a lot of stores close early that day.)
