I will not name names, but the formula / bottle / infant care companies are multi-billion dollar multi-national firms which spend hundreds of millions of dollars each year to persuade the public that bottle feeding is the preferred way to feed baby.
The problem is even worse in Africa, (a “growth market” for these companies) where sources of water, which dry formula mixes require, are often not potable. Further, any residue left in the bottle provides a perfect growth medium for bacteria.
This is one of the less laudable aspects of globalization.
