So, the surgery ... it went well.. they accomplished what they wanted to accomplish.

However, they couldn't thread the IV into my veins.. tried four places before getting it, my mouth was so small they had to dislocate my jaw to get the breathing tube in, and then managed to bruise and scrape my throat and trachea so I can hardly talk.

In recovery, I couldn't breathe.. my blood oxygen level was 67%, when normally it's up in the high 90's. I was on oxygen masks twice. Recovery took much longer than they expected, and the painkillers they gave me caused hallucinations and hotflashes.

But, I'm home, I look like I was hit by a truck, and I'm still alive.

I had the most wonderful nursing staff I could have asked for. They were wonderful all the way through. I'm very grateful.
