While presidents Chavez and Ahmadinejad may, through their respective governments’ clandestine funding of anti-western militant operations, surreptitiously support violence against the U.S. and the EU, I would be very surprised were they to openly acknowledge doing so.
They have seen what can happen to governments and heads of state whose behavior is deemed unacceptable – Colonel Muammar Gaddafi and the bombing of Tripoli, General Manuel Noriega and the invasion of Panana, Slobodan Milošević's and the bombing of Yugoslavia (among others), come to mind here.
They are most likely to restrict their acknowledged mischief to diddling with the price of oil by reducing supplies, or as happened at the end of last year in Tehran, sponsoring anti-Semitic, hate-filled conferences.
