I had a muffler pop loose once, on my Chevyvan, loaded with band equipment, in the middle of nowhere near the KY/TN state line...not up to making an actual repair, but I couldn't just let it drag to the next repair shop God-knows-where...found a wire clothes hanger & a pair of pliers, soon rolling down the road making one HELL of a noise, but no shower of sparks anymore...when I got to a garage, got lots of laughs from these old countryboy mechanics about my "bailin' wire" repair job...
