I just heard that an absolutely irreplaceable piece of history, The Cutty Sark, has just burned out in dry-dock.
A majestic clipper ship, she shared turbulent waters with the Thermopolae and other names of maritime magic.
Damn!!!!
BTW, when she visited Australia in the '60s, she needed special permission from Customs because the sails and ropes were made from (Indian) hemp.
