Sounds like they're taking you from just before LeRoy to Heyworth and then north on 51 to Bloomington to reconnect with I-74. Not bad road ... and 51 is a 4-lane divided highway. Slightly shorter would be to go east on 136 at exit 152 1-mile to US150 and take it west to Bloomington where you could reconnect with I-74. Little shorter (about 4 miles) but maybe the road isn't quite as good and you'd. Not real bad either way. Total distance either way is about 20 miles which is about the same as I-74. Real advantage with 150 would be most of the I-74 traffic would be going on 136.
