No tripod as such....i did have to sit the camera on something though to keep it still while the camera took the pic. No timer, well that i know of *L* I just pressed the button, the flash goes off and it sits and thinks about it for a bit and then processes the photo

There was some light around when i took these pics....will try the total darkness thing though OF. Sounds neat
