How I could've missed something in one of my favorite movies for over 20 years. I'm watching Vision Quest, probably seen it 30+ times since it came out back in '85, and tonight it hit me that something really, really didn't make any sense. Linda Fiorentino's character says she's from Newark, NJ but is on her way to San Francisco. Her car breaks down and she's stuck because as she said, "All I have is $20 and that car." Well, she's stuck in Spokane, WA. Why in the world would she be there? I mean, if I was heading out from Newark, NJ to SF and I didn't have much money, I'm thinking I'd just get on I-80 and head west until I got to San Fran.
Yeah, I put too much thought into that one, I know. And may I say that back in the day, fantasies of being with Fiorentino ran rampant through a teenage IowaMan's mind.
