Salacious, I think you have brought up an interesting point. I have heard of studies that show that the absence of a particular sense causes the others to highten to some degree.
If I were willing to give up smell, I wonder if I would taste things to a different level (sweeter, spicer, saltier, etc). If I lost my sight, would my sense of touch and hearing be enhanced?
If that were the case, my choice would still be to give up smell in hopes that my taste ability would go into overdrive!
