I think SODA has your answer, Zoid. You didn't develop petrified boogerballs,  but probably an ice plug. Sorry to say I've done that many times myself and wondered about it. I believe it's like an air conditioner working in reverse and forward in short intervals. Normally with physical excretion, the rapid exhaling of moist warn air over the frozen cilium (nose hair) causes water molecules to condense on them and the quick inhale of super cool air, forms a thin layer of ice, to be recoated with moisture and quickly frozen again to eventually merge with their neighbors and soon form a plug. At least that's my theory and I'm sticking to it until you give me a better one.
