From what I've been told, the mosque is going a few blocks away from Ground Zero, but is still fairly close. Like less than a mile close. I think the biggest outrage is that the people of New York did make an appearance at the variance hearing and did protest the structure being built there, but the judge ruled in favor of the mosqueI and not the people. I had a discussion about this with my dad just the other day because of something he posted on facebook.
