No offense intended, Bibi, but I've had this same discussion with several Canadian buddies of mine. One thing is for certain, the health care debate will continue on both sides of the border.
There is legislation in the US so that noone will be denied emergency medical services regardless of their level of insurance. The quality of health care in the US is generally considered superior, as shown by the number of Canadians who go south of the border to seek treatment.
The bottom line is that he who pays determines the treatment. I would much rather retain my medical decisions than have a the government make those determinations.
