True … several as a matter-of-fact. Jubilee State Park just west of Peoria; McNaughten park near Pekin Illinois … a city park of maybe 2,000 acres … and within an hours drive south the 16,000 acre Panther Creek State Park. and several others not too far from us, but those are the big attractions. About 2 hours from us is one of our favorites, the Robert Allerton Park … a 50-room mansion sitting on a 5,000 acre estate donated to the University of Illinois by Robert Allerton whose father used to own the Chicago Stock Yards during the Civil War and several hundred thousand acres between Ohio and Illinois. His son's home was where he managed a lot of Illinois and Indiana land.
T or F: You enjoy stopping every now an then at markers posted along highways for things of interest (often local).
