The bad news is the deficit is growing way too fast with declining revenues

That means that with our national debt at around 23 Trillion dollars and our poplulation at about 330 Million people ... each person owes about $697,000 and at the current average income of around $30,000 per year that means if we each contribute our total earnings were at more then 30 years to pay it off.

(That's assuming my numbers are approximately right.
