I, sadly, was only able to acknowledge two with any insight to their work other than Sandra Day O’Connor. Two others were remotely known to me because of their fields of work and I had to check to even confirm they were the right ones.

The very first, Edward Witten, because of his successive work with Richard Feynman was the bell ringer that had me optimistic about the list.
Jill Tarter is synonymous with SETI and is deeply entrenched in my personal interests.
I believed I recognized Eric Lander only because of the completion of the Genome Project last year and my interest in the significance of that, but couldn’t have given you his name first.
I just happen to run across Jeff Sachs recently because of interest in global population issues but most likely could not have even made a connection three months from now.

The name Sandra Day O'Connor is well known to us all because of her position. Her decisions effect economics and the media WILL keep that in our face. I have to plead ignorance of her standing and the respect she has outside of the political environment.

We all know the members of the Jackson family and the NFL leading players. I am truly saddened and concerned that we, ourselves, and the institutions of information and learning have the priorities we do.

We just recently had a discussion about such matters on this board.
