I think that the reason why I couldn't make a clean break from an ex was because he was a fuck buddy. we were on and off again in our relationship with each other for years.

The worst thing that I did was to keep having sex with him. It wasn't until we found other people, that the clean break was made.

My only advice is for her to remember :


They are EX's for a reason.


Just because things are good right now..."friends"... doesn't mean they have changed. Being lovers with an ex means your settleling for the little crumbs that they manage to throw at you. YOU deserve better than that. You deserve someone that will put you first above all else. If nothing else but to show your ex that someone can treat you with respect and even better than he/she could.
