What do you folks do to protect the bed if your evening is going to entail a lot of lube, oil and anything else that you don’t want staining the mattress? I don’t mind getting the sheets messed up, they will wash. What do you use to protect the mattress? I'm not sure I want the mattress soaking up anything that spills.

I've never cared for any type of plastic, regardless how it's covered, and even large beach towels on the bed are too easily displaced. When there is enough 'planning time' to gather lubes and hot oils, I also put on an extra mattress pad that is readily washable. If you're anticipating a very special evening, towels placed between the pads seems to do the job.

We've always found a towel underneath does the job for us. We're not exactly acrobats in bed, though.

A matress pad is a greta idea. Do *not* buy the plastic ones, though. They crinkle and break the mood.

Oh man, a topic in the sex category that I can actually answer! Too bad it's already been hit on by others. Yep, go with a washable mattress pad. Then go crazy with the Astroglide and have a great night.

We have this problem especially if the eveing involves hot oils for massage etc. We too have thick mattress pads.
