Today is a Special Day for Us
Our Meeting Anniversary
I was only sixteen,
Forty-seven years ago,
When I met a lovely lady,
Who's mere sight set me aglow.
My best friend introduced us,
So that we could double-date.
Little did I know then,
One day she'd be my mate.
We went to see a movie,
I don't even know it's name,
I kept looking at her face,
I'd never be the same.
If ever someone fell in love
At what they call first sight,
It had to be yours truly,
On that special springtime night.
It'd be three years and a month,
Before we tied the knot,
But my heart on that single evening
Was already caught.
Today, we celebrate that date,
On this fourteeth day of May.
My love for her still growing,
With each passing day.
