Not in quite a while - ever since the gas shortage in the early 70s when I learned to keep a half tank of gas in the car....
I never am at a loss for words during a spirited discussion

Normally true ... with very few exceptions.
I never understand mean spirited people.

I do ... but it's a different kind of fun.
I never change the oil in my car anymore.

I do, especially if they're calling my number as a lottery winner.
Unfortunately, that hasn't happened yet.
Oh, yeah, that's it ... I never have won the lottery!!

True - but I guess you have to play to win, funny how those things work.
I never realized how lucky I am until I see someone down on their luck

True.
I've never had to worry about where my next meal would come from or whether it'd be enough to get me by. Thank heavens for that.

True although there was a time a few years back when I was unemployed. I learned many valuable lessons during that period.
I have never failed to count my blessings.

True. Good rule of life to be thankful for what we have.
I've never liked snakes or spiders.

Very true - I have no idea where my son got his affinity for reptiles from!
You had a fish as a pet when you were younger.

I never had a monkey as a pet.

We've got two cats. Jasmine, a very dainty young lady and Stud, a real happy-go-lucky male. Talk about a contrast in cat personalities. Okay ... here it comes ...
I've never had two pets with such opposite personalities.
