Not at all! I enjoy Impressionism. But I do fail to engage with Degas, it is his "coldness" - that icy sketchiness which was a hallmark of his. I prefer an early artist, Alfred Sisley and a late one, Paul Gauguin.

I think the "coldness" is what I like the best about him. The sense that -- even when in the midst of a group -- his subjects are alone. Perfecting their art, controlled, focused within themselves. I think I love the sense of isolation, in the midst of so many warm lines and colors....that appearances can be deceiving. I think that is best reflection of life.
....Well, at least of mine.
