I learned that the electric power will go out on cue when the ice storm hits & freezes the streets so you can't go out anywhere to get a hot meal...

I learned never to buy one of those Christmas trees that have the bulbs intertwined in them. Even though they say if one goes out the rest will still stay lit, they lie!!!

I learnt that it's absolutely hilarious when my 90 year-old neighbor says "fuck" when she's mad about how the cake she just baked didn't turn out as she'd have liked.
