Ooooh, pretty skinks.

Turn out the lights, place a small container on the floor, shine a mini-spot into the mouth of the container, close the door and come back later. Skink will move into the light (and possibly container) on its own. If you happen to scare it when you come back to check on it, chances are it will run into the container, as it will likely perceive the container as a good hide spot.
