I could tolerate it better if it wasn't at or near Ground Zero.

A mile is a long way away. Should there be a mandated distance, 5 miles, 50 miles perhaps?

I had an interesting experience today.
I was walking along the waterfront here in Chicago when a heap of white Suburbans, cop cars, ambulances and SUVs with funny flags on them went past. One of the SUVs pulled up and my mate Barry, who I haven't seen for ages, stuck his head out of the window and asked me what I had on for dinner. Now you remember Barry, moved from his old place into that white house on the corner.
Anyway, to make a short story long, I had to decline his kind offer. Sadly, a few minutes before I had run into some really nice men who invited me to a couple of drinks at a pub called the Grassy Knoll.I told him we'd catch up next time he's in Oz.
Gotta run before they call last drinks.

Neige,
For many, if not most Americans, building a mosque at the site of former Twin Towers is akin to building a McDonald's restaurant beside General Brock's (and Colonel Macdonell, though few know of him) on Queenston Heights.
Both are perceived as symbols of a foreign and vaguely dangerous threat. That either should be built where each country’s nationals were killed by attacks from “them” is, as has been previously pointed out, easily represented as a victory for the other side.

He did! He did! I was talking to him (OldFart that is) a few minutes after he happened upon Obama's caravan. Seems he went there to have dinner with OF and after a mix-up of dinner or lunch, he settled for talking with some auto builders while OF was on his 'walkabout'. Guess they'll have to both have a talk with their social secretaries.

Another example of what happens when a judge overrides the will of the people.

We seem to have a lot of judges that overstep their bounds anymore.
